Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf: 91 Holes of Mini Golf in Wisconsin Dells
Visited March 2026

There's no shortage of mini golf in the Dells, but Pirate's Cove is one of the classics. It sits on a hill at the junction of Highways 12, 13, 16 and 23, with five courses winding over rock ledges, waterfalls and footbridges. We played on our March 2026 trip, right as the season was starting.

Quick highlights
- Five courses and 91 holes in all
- Built into a hillside, with waterfalls, sandstone-style rock and footbridges
- 18 holes for $11.50 for adults and $9 for kids 5 to 11; kids 4 and under play free
- Open daily from mid-March through October, weather permitting
- A free playground and a lookout over the Dells
The courses
Each of the five courses takes a different route over the hill:
- Blackbeard's goes over the big waterfall at the highest point.
- Captain Kidd's runs through a cave under the waterfall.
- Pirate's Lookout circles the waterfall near the top of the hill.
- Pirate's Challenge starts at the sundial and crosses a bridge at the top.
- Captain Hook's has 19 holes and is the most accessible course, a good pick for strollers or anyone who'd rather skip the climbs.

We went in March, before everything had greened up, so the photos are a little brown. In summer the waterfalls are running and the hillside fills in with more than 30,000 plants.

Tips
- Start with one or two courses. All 91 holes is a lot of walking and climbing.
- Pick Captain Hook's if you have a stroller or little legs.
- Go in the morning or evening in summer, when it's cooler and less crowded.
- Check hours before you go. They change through the season, and summer hours aren't always posted online, so call ahead.
- In October, Pirate's Cove runs Haunted Hook's on select evenings.

Our verdict
Pirate's Cove is old-school Dells fun, and the hillside setting makes it more interesting than a flat course. It's affordable, it's easy to fit in between bigger plans, and you can make it as short or as long as you want.
