MACS Review: Skillet Mac and Cheese on Broadway in Wisconsin Dells

If you're looking for an easy, kid-friendly lunch on Broadway, MACS is hard to beat. It's a whole restaurant built around mac and cheese, served bubbling in hot skillets. We stopped in for lunch on our March 2026 trip.

The space

You order at the counter from a big menu board, then find a seat. The dining room is long and comfortable, with booths, wood tables and a fun Wisconsin-and-cheese theme on the walls.

What's on the menu

The Original is cheddar and mozzarella, and it's a good place to start. From there, the combos get creative:

• Mama's Mac with grilled hot dog
• Loaded Baked Potato
• Memphis Mac with pulled pork, onion tanglers and BBQ sauce
• Buffalo Chicken and Chicken Bacon Ranch
• The Hangover, with hash browns, bacon, hot dog, peppers and sriracha
• Three Little Piggies, with pulled pork, ham, bacon and spicy BBQ

There are also melts, salads and desserts if someone in your group isn't in a mac and cheese mood.

For kids and special diets

The kids' menu is simple: a Li'l Original Mac, a Li'l Mama's Mac or a Li'l Original Melt, each $5.99 with apple slices or chips and a drink.

For gluten-free diners, MACS will swap the pasta for a base of sliced potatoes in any of its signature macs. The breadcrumbs and toasted bread are standard, so ask your server if you need to avoid gluten completely.

Our verdict

MACS is a fun, easy stop in the middle of a downtown day. It's casual and quick, there's something for everyone, and the skillets are a little bit of a show. Pair it with Wizard Quest or a walk on the River Walk.
